Members of the Association of Music Podcasting must meet the following:
- have produced at least 5 podcasts,
- produce podcasts on a regular basis,
- play Podsafe music (This *must* be podsafe because we cannot be held responsible for breaking copyright)
- must play music from a variety of artists (i.e. not just the podcasters own music)
- there should be a minimum level of music and music-related content in a podcast for it to be considered a "music podcast"
- the minimum amount of music-related content in the podcast should typically be 67% of the overall length of the podcast
- the minimum amount of actual music in the prospect podcast should typically be 67% of the music-related portion of the podcast. This equates to approximately 50% of the overall length of the podcast
- intros/outros and bumpers/sweepers would not contribute towards the 67%
Ok, you've read enough, let's get the ball rolling. Send an email to Membership@MusicPodcasting.org with the following information:
- Name of your podcast,
- URL for your podcast's website,
- URL for the podcast's XML/RSS feed,
- Your name.
Your podcast will be placed into the queue and the reviewers will begin listening to your show. If the show does not meet our standards then we will offer to assist you to find ways where this level can be achieved. If the show does meet our standards, then membership will be offered. Membership dues are $20. In the meantime, you can register for an account by emailing Webmaster@MusicPodcasting.org and ask them to create you an account.
